Former Zambia winger Clifford Mulenga has encouraged Copper Queens goalkeeper Musole Ngambo.
Musole has come underfire on social media for her performance at the on going Wafcon 2024 in Morocco.
Despite being at fault for Senegal’s first goal in the 3-2 victory, the Green Buffaloes shot stopper made a string of saves in the 10 minutes added time as Zambia sealed victory..
“Stay in it, Musole. Stay in the moment. There is no perfect legacy. Keep soaring,” Mulenga, a CAF 2007 Young Footballer of Year posted.
Copper Queens coach Nora Häuptle also backed Musole in her post match interview.
The Swiss coach was shocked that she was asked about Hazel Nali.
“Hazel Nali, the goalkeeper? Wow. We won 3-2 and you are asking me about the player who is not here?
“But, of course, I can answer this question. Hazel is a fantastic goalkeeper. She was at this tournament for Zambia.
“She’s already over a year out of play. So she did not train in any club.
“She did not play any games. So for me, of course, when she’s back on the training pitch, which I hope it’s gonna be soon, then she will be in focus of the national team.
“But, it’s never possible to call up a player who was more than a year out of the game and even in training practice.”
Häuptle will decide whether to stick with either Musole or Catherine Musonda, who has resumed training.
Zambia and Morocco are level of 4 points while Senegal is third on 3 points.
DR Congo are bottom with 0 points
Catherine Musonda will just be worse. Without Hazel, let’s stick with Ngambo.
It’s good to be honest, Ngambo should be benched.
I think we can just stick to Musole as we wait for quick fitness of Hazel Nali
thank you the encouragement you gave her . we need people like you
She should work on her weight
It’s not only Senegal but also Morocco she didn’t jump because she’s heavy
She’s all we have at this moment she has experience mistakes are there to be corrected better with musole ngambo
