5 -Red Arrows stars to watch in the ABSA Cup final

The Absa Bank Zambia sponsored K4 million rich Absa Cup final is on April 30.

Newly crowned Super League champions Red Arrows engage newly confirmed top flight entrants Napsa Stars.

I single out 5 players that are likely to inspire Arrows to a double:

  1. Treasor Yambayamba Tshibwabwa: the DR Congo born majestic centre back has been rock solid for the Chisi Mbewe side technical advised by Osward Mutapa and 2012 Africa Cup winner Kakonje Kalililo as goalkeeper coach and Dominic Yobe part of the coaching team.

A ball playing defender who is also good in the air will be a useful in the opposition box as he is in the Airmen bedroom.

  1. Bennedict Chepeshi: the captain reserves the best football for club rather than country.

He looks a totally different player for Arrows compared when in the colours of Chipolopolo.

Perhaps, it is the responsibility of being captain that lifts his game with stoic defending and overlaps with whipped in crosses like cream on cake.

An eloquent speaker and leader from the back, do not bet against Chepeshi leading the Airmen to a cup and league double.

  1. Allasane Diarra-he has scored in every Absa Cup match this campaign so far the intelligent Malian.

At 25, the on loan from Kafue Celtic midfielder is on top of his goal.

Not only does he weigh with crucial goals but has fantastic vision to provide assists.

Diarria drives forward with discipline and can dominate midfield battles like a general at war.

  1. Yousuf Saddam Phiri: Perhaps the most under-rated star in the jet-fighting and flying Airmen.

The former City of Lusaka boy has been consistent and a marvel to watch with bags of skill.

In the 3-0 win over Nkwazi in the quarter-finals, Phiri was brilliant and netted once.

FAZ president Andrew Kamanga recently watched the title clinching 4-1 win over Chambishi and remarked, ” I have been impressed by several players from both Arrows and Chambishi including Phiri (Sadaam).

You don’t catch the eye of a Football House supremo if you don’t have quality.

  1. Ricky Banda: Incredibly yet to ink his name on the Absa Cup matches goal scoring charts after missing some good chances both in the last 8 and semi-finals against Green Eagles.

But with 15 goals in the league and one against Simba in continental football you can expect the Super Division golden boot number 1 contender to explode in the final.

Look out for the 5 from Napsa Stars later.
