Zesco, Zanaco, and Arrows record wins as Chingalika frustrate Forest

MTN Super League leaders Zesco United beat Nkwazi in a lunchtime kickoff while Kabwe Warriors suffered a defeat to Zanaco at Sunset Stadium.

Red Arrows also registered a win over Buildcon while Kitwe United held Forest Rangers in Kitwe.

Nkwazi 1-2 Zesco United (Kevin Mubanga 27′ Luwawa Kasoma 80′ | Christopher Zulu 89′)

Zesco United stretched their unbeaten run to 10 matches after another impressive win over Nkwazi.

Midfielder Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba gave the Numba Mumamba coached side the lead in the first half.

With Nkwazi piling pressure on the Ndola side, substitute Luwawa Kasoma gave Zesco a two-goal caution against the run of play.

Substitute Christopher Zulu scored a consolation for the Zambia Police outfit. Bernard Kumwenda again impressed for Dennis Makinka’s side.

Zesco maintained the top spot with 55 points.

Zanaco 2-1 Kabwe Warriors (Lassa Kiala 35′, Moses Phiri 70′ | Shebban Kaunda 15′)

Striker Moses Phiri scored his 12th goal of the season to earn Zanaco maximum points against Kabwe Warriors at Sunset Stadium as the bankers reduced Zesco’s lead to 9 points.

Warriors gave Zanaco a scare after Shebban Kaunda nodded home from a Jimmy Ndhlovu corner.

Congolese midfielder Lassa Kiala scored the equalizer for the bankers.

Had Warriors won, they could have had dislodged Zanaco in second place.

Red Arrows 1-0 Buildcon (James Chamanga 70′)

Veteran striker James Chamanga scored his 9th goal of the season to propel Red Arrows victory against Buildcon at Nkoloma Stadium.

Had it not been for poor finishing, the airmen could have ended up with a cricket scoreline.

Chamanga got his goal of a by Tresor Tshibwabwa assist.

Kitwe United 1-1 Forest Rangers (Josephat Kasusu 5′ | Laurent Muma 12′)

Forest Rangers missed another opportunity to push their continental dreams further after they were held by relegated Kitwe United.

Forest Rangers captain Laurent Muma’s 12th-minute goal canceled out Josephat Kasusu’s opener at Garden Park.
