Zesco United beat Red Arrows but Krympotic says no to the media

Kenyan talisman Jesse Jackson Were finished off a Jackson Mwanza low cross in the 71st minute to earn Zesco United maximum points. Zlatko Krympotic who has come under heavy fire from the fans refused to talk to the media despite the win. Some sections of fans have called for his head after a poor run form .

Zesco United created a number of chances but their strikers on the day let the down. Jackson Mwanza was handed a chance to put Team ya Ziko in the lead but it seemed he had too much time and too many options in the end putting the ball over the bar.

Mwanza was again handed amother chance but his choice of power over precision let him down as he again shot wide off the target.

Jesse was next in line after being put through on goal with only thes keeper to beat and defenders nowhere near the scene but the former Tusker Captain who is usually more composed hit is shot straight at Munyao. Midfielder John Ching’andu was also given an easy chance which he failed to utilise shortly before half time.

Red Arrows tried to create chances in the second half and the best one fell to Bruce Musakanya who somehow failed to score and hit the cross bar.

The win sees Zesco break into the top four on 52 points displacing Power Dynamos who now drop to 5th position while Arrows remain in 11th position.

The 2016 runners-up are 4 points behind log leaders Green Buffaloes but have two games in hand against whipping boys City of Lusaka and Kabwe Warriors.

Zesco will stay in Lusaka for a mouthwatering fixture against third placed Lusaka Dynamos in a game that may have a say on where the title will go this season.
