Zesco trio in fitness race ahead of Kaloum tie

Zesco United go into the weekend match against AS Kaloum of Guinea with injury concerns to three key players.

National team striker Jackson Mwanza, defenders David Odhiambo and Ayo Oluwafemi are all racing against time to be declared fit for the game to be played this weekend.

The two defenders sat out training earlier in the week while Mwanza struggled to complete training after the the players suffered knocks in the Charity Shield final match against Power Dynamos.

However, Coach George Lwandamina is confident the trio will recover before Saturday.

Odhiambo over the weekend scored twice to help Zesco lift the season opening Charity Shield.

Zesco go into the match confident after having not lost in the last five competitive games which include games against Mbabane Swallows and the Charity shield.

  1. C’mon Zesco!!! I really like how this clubs professionalism and growth over the years. To think that this team was playing in the 3rd tier of Zambian football not too long ago is amazing at how far they’ve come. Good luck guys.
