Zesco CEO sends a message of goodwill to the fans

Zesco United Chief Executive Officer Richard Mulenga has sent a message of goodwill to the fans during these trying times of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Mulenga has reiterated the importance of following guidelines from the ministry of health and WHO.

Mulenga urged the fans to follow the guidelines because nothing is as important as their health and wellbeing.

Mulenga was also quick to remind the fans of how important their support has been to the success of the Zambia Super League defending Champions.

BELOW IS THE FULL MESSAGE

Ndola, (1st April 2020)- Firstly, on behalf of ZESCO United Football Club management, I wish to send a message of goodwill to everyone who has been directly affected by the Coronavirus pandemic and those who are dealing with the impact of it.

These are troubling times for all of us and we have to adjust to this new way of living. A life without the beautiful game that we all love dearly.

However, there is nothing as important as our health and wellbeing.

Fans are at the core of what we do as a football club. You are the heartbeat and lifeblood of this great club.

The unparalleled success we have achieved in the last two decades couldn’t have been possible without your unquestionable support.

Coronavirus is a deadly disease that knows no race, tribe, religion, social status, or gender.

As such, we wish to make a clarion call to you all to adhere to safety guidelines as prescribed by the Government of the Republic of Zambia, through the Ministry of Health.

Wash your hands thoroughly for 20 seconds, keep a bottle of hand sanitizer handy, avoid handshaking, kissing and hugging, cover your mouth when sneezing and coughing.

We need to change our behavior and stick to these safety guidelines for the greater good of our families, friends and Mother Zambia.

I am sure we are all anxious to get back to what we enjoy doing best. Supporting our beloved team. However, we all have a role to play if we are to beat this pandemic.

We are all looking forward to the season restarting when it is safe to do so. For the time being, let’s stand together and beat this disease. United we stand, divided we fall.

Stay home, stay safe.

The problem in many parts of the world and Africa is just starting. It could take until the end of June for the virus to burn out. It would seem the season is over. AS long as everyone stays healthy and alive sport will make a comeback but for now …close shop.
