Zambia U20 squad set to leave for Burundi without Lameck Banda
Zambia U20 national soccer team coach Charles Bwale has named his 20 man squad for the Niger 2019 final round qualifier second leg to be played in Burundi.
Bwale continues to be without skipper of the side Prince Mumba who is out due to injury and the foreign based trio of Edward Chilufya, Mwiya Malumo and Lifumpa Mwandwe.
Also missing on the team list is Zesco United attacker Lameck Banda who scored the all important 86th minute goal in the first leg against Burundi but was sent off for a second bookable offence after he took off his shirt when celebrating.
In Banda’s place, Bwale has roped in Prison Leopards midfielder Prince Shipota.
The current Burundi U20 team has played 5 competitive games this year and have only lost once (in the game against Zambia) and drawn once at home.
They are not high scorers at home having not scored more than one goal in their two games so far.
The reigning U20 African Champions will need to get a result in Ngozi to make it to the finals as the winner of the two legs qualifies to Niger.
The team leaves in the early hours of Thursday morning (01.00AM) and will make a stopover in Kigali before proceeding to Burundi.
