Zambia and Micho in desperate need of a win

The Zambia national team will this afternoon look to seek redemption when they square off with Eswatini in their second 2021 COSAFA Cup match at the Wolfson Stadium in Nelson Mandela Bay.

Zambia desperately needs a win this afternoon to keep their semifinal hopes alive. The Copper Bullets succumbed to a 2-1 loss at the hands of Lesotho in their opening game on Thursday.

Chipolopolo Boys boss Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic is also desperately in need of a win to at least start winning back favor with the fans who have started to become impatient with him given his recent poor run of form.

Skipper Kennedy Mweene is expected to return his place between the sticks with Kabaso Chongo, Adrian Chama, Rodrick Kabwe, and Benedict Chepeshi making up the back four.

Benson Sakala and Salulani Phiri are likely to partner in midfield. Upfront Gamphani Lungu and Justin Shonga are expected to make way for Brian Mwila and Moses Phiri with Augustine Mulenga and Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba on either wing.

South Africa lead Group A on six points after wins over Botswana and Eswatini. Kickoff is at 15:00 hours (CAT) with the match live on Cosafa TV and SuperSport.

The 2021 Cosafa Cup has two groups of five teams with the top two teams qualifying for the semifinals.

Zambia is the defending Champions having won their fifth title in 2019 under Aggrey Chiyangi. Zimbabwe is the record winner with six titles.

    Micho the motivation speaker
    We have lost again….
I mean we have lost from an undercat,
    Not an underdog…..
What do you have to say?

  2. FM says:

If you still have the Job after this
match the Kamanga is very corrupt….
We need just a local coach….
We are going nowhere with the Michigan thing…..

  3. Micho must go. I don’t think he knows what he is doing. He can’t keep changing players like that. He can’t even make a proper best 11. That was chipantepante foot until those changes in the midfield. We need players who holds the ball and place accurate passes. Spencer Sautu, Bruce musakanya, Kelvin kampamba these are some creative players we have. Not that dead wood he played, this chap is taking us no where.

  4. Pele says:

Zambian players of Michos time have still not learnt that the most dangerous attacker is the one making a run without the ball. So with this kind of mediocrity, Micho still thinks he deserves our tax payers money???
