Women’s Round Up: Banda assists, Kabange wins league in China, Ireen Lungu on target 

Copper Queens skipper Barbra Banda set up a goal for her team while Kabange Mupopo won the China Taiping Women’s Super League. 

It was a full packed weekend for Zambian Women’s Football exports. 

In the USA, Barbra Banda setup Brazilian legend Marta for the third goal as Orlando Pride saw off Houston Dash 3-1. 

The assists means Banda has now been involved in 19 goals (13 goals and 6 assists ) in 18 games since her switch to the United States of America from China. 

Elsewhere, Rachel Kundananji put in a full shift for Bay FC who cruised to a 1-0 win over Seattle Reign FC. 

Asisat Oshoala converted from the spot to help Bay FC move into the eighth and final playoff position with just four matches remaining on the NWSL regular season schedule.

In Turkey, Defenders, Lushomo Mweemba and Martha Tembo started for Hakkarigucu Spor who suffered a 3-2 loss at the hands of ALG Spor. 

In China, Kabange Mupopo and her Wuhan Chegu Jiangda beat Shaanxi Changan 1-0 to seal the China Taiping CFA Women’s Super League title. 

Mupopo who joined the China giants in July has now won two league titles in 2024 having helped Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club to win the 2023/2024 Women’s Super League.

Elsewhere, Midfielder Ireen Lungu scored the third goal as Jiangsu Suning beat Guangdong Meizhou 3-0. 

In Mexico, Winger Prisca Chilufya assisted Jasmine Alexis Cassarez’s second goal as FC Juarez beat Quantero 2-0 in the Mexican Liga MX.
