We missed chances but we shall polish up for the next games – Ernest Koffi

Kitwe United on Wednesday afternoon played out to a barren draw against the pensioners NAPSA Stars in a rescheduled encounter of the MTN/FAZ super league at Garden Park stadium in Kitwe.

Speaking to the ZAMFOOT Crew in a post-match interview, head Coach Ernest Koffi said his team did not deploy what they practiced in training with missing a lot of chances and that he is hoping to polish up for future games.

“It’s just very unfortunate that some of the things we did at training we expected that they will be converted into the game but we missed those chances we had and we hope that we shall continue so that in future games we shall do better,” he said.

“Football is all about goals and if goals are not coming we can not get a win so we are making sure we score goals so that we can get some wins,” he added.

Koffi went ahead to say that his team is confident that they shall survive relegation.

With the goalless draw against NAPSA Stars on Wednesday afternoon, Kitwe United have failed to score a goal in the last six games, overall in the league this season they have only managed to score 4 goals and conceding 17 goals in 14 league matches and they sit bottom, needing 9 points for them to be out of the relegation zone.

Their next match is away to the Zambia Army-sponsored side, Green buffaloes in Lusaka on Saturday 6th January in an early kick-off at Sunset Stadium.

    – if its problem at club level , then one can see why the national team is struggling.

Zamfoot, could you kindly ask one of your top reporters to look into the attributes for a top striker, then may be some of these coaches can start implementing what we have been discussing on this forum for years.
Things must change… whatever has been done in the past is clearly not working. At Chan we scored 3 goals..there was more shooting over the bar than at the goal and yet the coach is an attack minded person.
Algeria coming up next month, I’m not very optimistic but still, hoping for some improved firepower.
