Chipolopolo forward Kennedy Musonda was involved in the second goal as Tanzanian giants Young Africans revived their TotalEnergies CAF Champions League hopes with an emphatic 3-0 home victory over 10-man Medeama on Wednesday.
Musonda’s goal bound header seemed to have a slight deflection off Bakari Mwamnyeto before beating the Medeama SC goalkeeper.
Pacome Zouzoua broke the deadlock for the hosts after 31 minutes before second half strikes from Bakari Mwamnyeto and Mudathiri Yahya sealed the win.
The win is Yanga’s first in the CAF Champions League group stage in 25 years.Â
The result leaves Young Africans second in Group D on goal difference behind leaders Al Ahly heading into the final two rounds.
