Trident offered National Division One slot ….Nakambala Leopards drop to District League

North Western Provincial Division One Champions, Trident FC has been offered a slot in the EDEN University/FAZ National Division One following Nakambala Leopards withdraw from the league.

According to a letter by FAZ General Secretary Adrian Kashala addressed to Trident FC accessed by the ZamFoot Crew, FAZ settled for the North-Western outfit after they finished fifth in the recent playoffs held in Lusaka.

“We write to inform you that your club has been offered a slot in the Eden University National Division One League for the 2020/2021 soccer season to fill the gap left by Nakambala Football Club.

You have been considered for this position following your 5th finish on the aggregated table for the National Division One Playoffs that took place in Lusaka a fortnight ago.”

Trident has up to close of business tomorrow to confirm their acceptance of the offer.

“You are expected to confirm your acceptance of this offer in writing by the close of business on 15th October 2020. Your confirmation must be accompanied by the sponsorship commitment letter from your sponsors.”

Should they accept the offer, They will join Kashikishi Warriors, Livingstone Pirates, the City of Lusaka, and Konkola Blades as the teams that will join the Eden University National Division One.

Zambia Sugar, who are the sponsors of Nakambala Leopards has directed the club to play in the district league. Nakambala Leopards were denied clearance from the sponsors’ health department to resume training back in July and went on to forfeit their games when the Super League made a short return during the COVID-19 period.
