Transfer Deadline Day: Makwata joins Zesco as Kola moves to Forest Rangers

The Zambia Super League transfer window will close tonight at exactly 24:00hrs hence clubs are busy trying to tie down last-minute deals.

The ZamFoot Crew is on the ground giving you real-time updates concerning deals that have been done so far and those likely to be done between now and midnight.

Defending Champions, Zesco United have signed Kenyan striker John Mark Makwata from Kenyan outfit AFC Leopards.

This will be Makwata’s second stint in Ndola having played for Team Kopala, Buildcon between March 2017 and August 2018.

The 2017 Kenyan Premier League top goalscorer is currently the leading top goalscorer of the 2019/2020 KPL season with 13 goals and has four assists to his credit in 16 matches.

Zesco’s rivals Forest Rangers have also announced two new acquisitions in Ghanaian Moro Amenu and Nigerian winger Quadri Kola.

Kola has joined Fole Malembe barely hours after being released by rivals Zesco United. The Nigerian was a regular starter at Zesco United hence some fans feel hard done by his shock release by the club and subsequent move to their rivals.

Amenu Moro, on the other hand, joins the ZAFFICO sponsored side from relegation-threatened KYSA where he used to put in impressive shifts despite the team struggling to win games.

More deals are expected to be confirmed and the ZamFoot will be on hand to give you the information.
