The Women’s Super Division returns as Green Buffaloes host ZESCO Ndola Girls

The 2023/24 FAZ Women’s Super Division returns to action this weekend after a week of recess as log leaders Red Arrows visit Green Eagles in a tricky service derby.

Second-placed Indeni Roses will take a long trip to the East to take on Chipata Girls whereas Green Buffaloes will face ZESCO Ndola Girls in arguably the game of the weekend set for Sunset Stadium plus plenty of more action in round 6.

12h00 – Green Eagles Vs Red Arrows Women | Independence Stadium, Lusaka

Red Arrows Women Football Club will be hoping to consolidate their stay at the summit of the log standing when they visit Green Eagles in a lunchtime kickoff set for 12h00 at Independence Stadium in Lusaka.

Arrows who have maintained a 100% winning record from the 4 games played are favourites going into this fixture against a Green Eagles side that has only won once in as many games played so far and sits eighth on the log table.

With the match moved from Bank of Zambia Sports Complex to Independence Stadium it will be like a neutral venue for either side, Arrows will be hoping their game changer Aliness Kasoma who is the leading top goalscorer with 5 goals in the league continues with her goal scoring form while Coach Albert Mpande will rely on the services of skipper Racheal Moono to inspire his side to victory.

Arrows have a better winning record over Eagles but tomorrow’s encounter promises to be very exciting between the Air Ladies and Tonka Tweende Girls.

13h00 – Green Buffaloes Women Vs ZESCO Ndola Girls | Sunset Stadium, Lusaka

Defending champions Green Buffaloes Women Football Club will host ZESCO Ndola Girls at Sunset Stadium in what is expected to be an exciting match on Saturday starting at 13h00.

Having played only a single match this season, Buffaloes will be up against ZESCO a side that is unbeaten so far in all the three matches played which makes this tie even more interesting considering the fact that these two teams have always had unfinished business with each other.

Buffaloes will be hoping the likes of Maylan Mulenga and Agness Phiri rises to the occasion to fire up some goals upfront while the defence led by Lushomo Mweemba needs to be equal to the task to ensure the in-form ZESCO strikers Fridah Kabwe and Mary Mbewe are kept at bay by providing enough cover for goalkeeper Aisha Mbwana.

Copper Queens goalkeeper Leticia Lungu is expected to start in goal for Zegalicious and skipper Melody Kipimpi will lead the defence line while Vast Phiri is likely to be deployed in the midfield to ensure she protects the back line from attacks that could be mounted by Buffaloes Midfielders led by skipper Joana Benaya, Judith Zulu and Salome Phiri.

There’s all to play for in this match which will also be broadcast live on ZNBC TV 3 via Top Star Decoders.

12h00 – Trident Queens Vs ZANACO Ladies | Lumwana Ground, Solwezi

Trident Queens will welcome ZANACO Ladies in another lunchtime kickoff match set for 12h00 at Lumwana Ground.

Both sides have had a slow start to the season and they have 3 points apiece and are only separated by goal difference on position 14 and 15 respectively hence this fixture can go either way.

13h00 – Queens Sports Academy Vs Police Dove Queens | ZNS Rugby Ground, Kabwe.

Kabwe town will be busy tomorrow as Queens Sports Academy host Police Dove Queens at ZNS Rugby Ground at 13h00.

Doves will be hoping to maintain their unbeaten run this season with a 100% winning record in their three matches played so far with a maximum of 9 points in third position while Queens have only won once and managed two draws from 5 matches putting them in sixth position.

On paper, The Fearless Doves are favourites to carry the day but the Royal Girls won’t let them have it easy and will rely on home ground advantage to secure a positive result.

15h00 – Kamfinsa Police Blue Eagles Vs The Elite Ladies | Kamfinsa Ground,

Kamfinsa Police Blue Eagles will welcome bottom-placed Elite Ladies who have three games in hand at Kamfinsa Ground in Kitwe.

Kamfinsa has proved to have a lethal striking force having scored 7 goals and only 3 behind Red Arrows on most goals scored but at the same time they have been leaking in goals and facing The Elite Ladies side won’t be easy.

The Limit Breakers need to be ready for a stern task to be able to contain the likes of Xiomara Mapepa who scores goals for fun and is back-to-back top goalscorer in the league and will be partnered by the likes of Comfort Selemani who could be another threat to Kamfinsa.

This will be the first ever meeting between the two sides and anything is possible from this encounter.

13h00 – Chipata Girls Vs Indeni Roses | DK Stadium, Chipata

Chipata Girls will welcome second-placed Indeni Roses in a super Sunday clash set for DK Stadium at 13h00.

The Ndife Tiliko Che Girls have 3 points from four games played, 6 points behind The Smart Roses who are also unbeaten with a 100% winning record plus a clean sheet in as many games played so far.

Chipata should brace themselves for a very stern task against Indeni who have all the experience going into this encounter.

15h00 – YASA Queens Vs National Assembly Women | Hospice Ground, Lusaka

The Stubborn YASA Queens will welcome the National Assembly at Hospice Ground in another super Sunday clash at 15h00.

Earlier in the week, YASA received a boost of new jerseys and boots and a victory against The Parliamentarians will be a good result for The Stubborn Girls as a way of saying thank you to their all weather partners, Better Chance and Puma.

Assembly are 10th on the table with 4 points having played additional two games, one point better than YASA who are in 13th position.

15h00 – Luyando Foundation Girls Vs Nkwazi Queens | Makeni Ground, Lusaka

Luyando Foundation Girls will be hoping to continue with their impressive run in the top tier of Zambian Football when they host Nkwazi Queens in a match set for Shamuel Makeni Ground at 15h00.

Luyando nicknamed as the People’s Favorite Team will hope to upset High Flying Queens in a match that can go either way with both teams having everything to play for between fourth position in Luyando and 11th position Nkwazi.

15h00 – ZISD Women Vs Kabwe Celtic Queens | Independence Stadium,

Zambia Institute for Sustainable Development (ZISD) Women Football Club will host second from bottom Kabwe Celtic Queens at Lusaka’s Independence Stadium.

Celtic nicknamed as Team Bapele will be hoping to upset the tables in their quest for their first victory of the season but facing the rejuvenated Kuchalo Girls is just another mountain for the Kabwe based side to climb.
