The dice is cast: Malalo Police banking on experience in the playoffs
Northern Province 2019/2020 League Champions Malalo Police will be banking on their experience as they begin their National Division One play-off in Lusaka this afternoon in Lusaka.
After dropping from the zones the previous season, the police sponsored out-fit maintained their squad which made it easy for the team to emerge as provincial league leaders and earn them a chance to bounce back to the elite national league.
“The 2019_2020 season was tough you know with the coronavirus which affected us very much, as you may know, football is about meeting & training but since the corona outbreak players have been having personal training which may affect the shape we had at the start of the season,” Malalo team manager Mambo told the ZamFoot Crew.
“The morale in camp is high and we are very much ready for the playoffs,” he added.
Malalo police are representing Northern Province at the playoffs after emerging as league leaders with 46 points from 20 games played before the league came to end prematurely due to the Coronavirus epidemic.
With the whole Northern Province rallying behind Malalo it’s all up to the experience of the veteran players who have been together for a long time to deliver.
Malalo will start their campaign against Petauke United at 15:00hrs at Police College Ground before facing City of Lusaka on Tuesday. They will square off with Southern Province giants Livingstone Pirates on Wednesday and end their group A marches against Blessings of Central Province on Thursday.
