Sven: Seychelles is a holiday destination not a footballing nation

Chipolopolo boss Sven Vandenbroeck says Seychelles is more of a holiday destination than a football country. Zambia will face the winner between Seychelles and Botswana on the route to the 2020 Ethiopia CHAN tournament.

The Belgian said he did not have enough information on the two possible opponents for Chipolopolo and will need to research to get any idea of how they play.

“I have no idea about Seychelles for me it is a holiday country than football. We need to go deep to research. Botswana is also not well known to me. I will request to watch these games live,” he said.

The Belgian was speaking this morning at football house during a press conference as he rolled his programme for 2019.

The Belgians contract will come to an end in March but he is confident it will be renew. Sven feels both parties are willing to continue the partnership.

“We both have the intention to continue. For now all I can say is there is willingness from both parties to continue,” he said.

The former Cameroon assistant coach was hired to take Chipolopolo to the 2019 AFCON which he failed but it seems the Football Association of Zambia are keen on keeping the Belgian despite the AFCON failure. It would be a good match for the two camps to actually play each other. I hope the players put in their best during the camp

You are a good coach but you need proper assistants. This is where you are disadvantaged.

Zambia needs a lot warm up matches before playing any major game. this is what has been lacking. Not enough game time is given to the coach to make him assess players and systems.

  3. L Zulu says:

FAZ you need to employ a coach who is knowledgeable about African football. Not this one who does not know even Botswana and failed to qualify to Africa cup finals
