Chipolopolo defender Stopilla Sunzu was yesterday (Monday evening) in action for the Lille reserve team.
Sunzu played the entire game as Lille romped to a 3 – 1 victory over Tourcoing as he keeps working to regain his fitness and form.
The defender who is on loan at Lille from Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua only made the substitutes bench when Lille drew away against Renne in the last league match in Friday.
He has so far only made on substitute appearance for Lille since his return to Ligue 1.

That’s the idea play more games and gain match fitness. We need you in the chipolopolo.
It’s fine for match fitness
Good for sunzu.he will soon be fit for the main team.we all know he is main team material
Great our most reliable defender is playing in the reserves..
at least its better to gain feetness, but im worried for herve renard job coz there is too much draws.
Yes, I agree too, those draws at a Club like Lille can be costly at the end. The team must start winning more especially home games
Don’t lose heart rockboy!
The good thing about Sunzu apart from defending is that he can as well score goals
Also in the line up was south africa’s lebo Mothiba
Ghana U20 Star Yaw Yeboah flanks Sunzu as pictured above…
I’m not so sure about this, he has been in France for a while already and all he has pulled off so far is a couple of minutes in one game and now reserves. A season long loan is not a lot of time to establish a reputation so he needs to find himself in the first team ASAP.
Yes this could be a good thing for him to regain match fitness but truth be told he should already be match fit by now. It has been a couple of weeks already. He is actually lucky HR knows him pretty well but had it been another coach this would be signs of the coach beginning to overlook him. Sunzu needs to put in more than just effort at this point otherwise we will be looking at another Mayuka in France story.
Agreed. You make a very good point, because this almost looks like buyers remorse on the part of HR. A season long loan and you are playing in the reserves is not a good sign.
What kind of football is in China for a player to move to Europe and be deemed unfit.
Well spoken Big Steve. This does not make good reading about Sunzu. European leagues do not go by names or reputations. They simply look at performance. Sunzu needs to up his game otherwise it will be another frustrating outing in France for him.
Had he not gone to China he would have played in the first team. In China football is slower than Europe. It will take a while for him to adopt again
Herve Renard has never convinced me to be a great coach. I hope his exultant improve for zambia’s sake.
Typo…I meant to say I hope his results improve
Its fine let him play more games
Bide your time, opportunity will come.
They are sweating for sunzu’s fitness. Wants he get fitness his presence will make a deference.. That back line is not intact. The day that sunzu is goin to earn a starting position victory is certain.
The Draw-specialist Mr. Herve Renard lol
