Zanaco Football Club has become the latest club to confirm that they will adhere to the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) directive to suspend group training sessions.
Zanaco Football Club General Manager, Marlon Kananda confirmed the development in an interview with the club’s official website monitored by the ZamFoot Crew that management had suspended squad training sessions indefinitely due to the coronavirus pandemic which has continued to rise in Zambia and is currently sitting at 28 confirmed cases.
“Squad training sessions have been canceled based on the advice of the club medical staff and the Football Association of Zambia. Players will be encouraged to train on their own and to continue following the precautionary measures put in place by the Government through the Ministry of Health by regularly washing hands with soap and remaining indoors, ” Kananda said.
“Our only priority during this period is the wellbeing of everyone. This action is being taken in the interests of the safety and well-being of our players, technical bench, staff and our thousands of loyal fans, ” he said.
The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) on Thursday, directed clubs to suspend group training sessions following measures announced by Republican President His Excellency Edgar Chagwa Lungu around the response to the covid-19 to ensure that steps to help towards combating the pandemic are taken.
