South Africa 🇿🇦 : Bafana Bafana intensify preps for Zambia friendly

Bafana Bafana has intensified preparations for this weekend’s international friendly match against Zambia.

The World Cup bound side held their first session on Monday at Ellis Park and have been putting in work since then.

Coach Hugo Broos has been on hand to take the 2024 AFCON bronze medalists through their paces.

Zambia and South Africa will lock horns on Saturday at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha.

The match is part of coach Hugo Broos’ preparations for this year’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco at the end of the year.

Coach Moses Sichone will also use this opportunity to fine his side ahead of the continental showpiece.

The TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Morocco 2025 will take place between 21st December 2025 and 18th  January 2026.

Zambia is in Group A alongside hosts Morocco, West African giants Mali, and Comoros.

The 2012 AFCON winners returned to the tournament last year after an eight year absence but were booted out in the group stage.

Meanwhile Bafana Bafana are in Group B and will face Egypt, Angola and Zimbabwe.
