Sakala could be ‘fashioned’ for EPL
Zambia national team striker Fashion Sakala Jnr could be heading to the English Premier League or Spanish La Liga according to media reports.
Sakala who is currently on the books of troubled Belgian side KV Oostende is said to have attracted interest from EPL and La Liga sides.
West Ham United, Newcastle and Sevilla are said to be interested in acquiring the services of former Zambia U-20 forward who recently joined the 2018 Forbes world’s second most valuable Sports Agency, Wasserman.
The Hammers are currently third from last on the EPL table with only 27 points from 29 games with their number striker Sébastian Haller netting only seven goals in 27 matches while Ukrainian forward Andriy Yarmolenko has managed only 3 strikes in 15 matches.
With the above stats, The three-time FA Cup Champions can surely use the services of Fashion Sakala who has proven to be a ‘goal-hungry’ striker.
Other clubs linked to Sakala are Newcastle United and Sevilla. The Magpie’s front line has been blunt this season with former Liverpool midfielder Jonjo Shelvey being their top scorer with five goals.
Their Brazilian first-choice striker Joelinton has only managed to score once in 29 games while Englishmen Dwight Gayle and Andy Carol have failed to find the back of the net in 12 and 13 appearances respectively.
Zambia has had a number of players in England with Emment Kapengwe and Fred Mwila Snr playing for Aston Villa between 1969 and 1970 when the Hammers were in Division two.
Recently Collins Mbesuma played for Portsmouth between 2005 and 2007 while Emmanuel Mayuka was on the books of Southampton between 2013 and 2015.
