Ronald ‘Sate Sate’ reigns as he is named player of the year

Former Nkana FC striker Ronald ‘Sate Sate’ Kampamba has been named the 2014 Zambian footballer of the year at the 2014 FAZ-MTN awards gala held at Moba hotel on Friday evening.

Kampamba who has since moved to Egyptian side Wadi Degla beat Zesco United duo of Nyambe Mulenga and Jackson Mwanza to the prize.

Mwanza however had consolation in missing the top award as he walked away with the golden boot after scoring 15 goals in the 2014 season.

U20 international and former Nchanga Rangers midfielder Larry Bwalya was named young player of the year shaking off a challenge from team mate at U20 Spencer Sautu and U17 captain Patson Daka who inspired Zambia to a historic CAF Championship qualification.

Veteran striker Winstone Kalengo walked away with the most disciplined player award with K15,000.00 prize money.

Zesco United coach George Lwandamina was named coach of the year and he walked away with K20,000.00.
