Queens Academy donates a set of football jerseys to Kawama Hotspurs
Central Province based Women’s football club Queens Academy on Tuesday donated a set of jerseys and a match ball to fellow Women’s side Kawama Hotspurs Ladies Football club.
Queens Academy Team Manager Sackson Kavimba presented the jersey and match ball to Kawama on behalf of the club on Tuesday afternoon.
Kawama Hotspurs Ladies head coach Emmanuel Chikoli expressed gratitude to Queens for the gesture as his team had been playing without jerseys. Chikoli further asked the Central Province FAZ Women’s League defending champions to continue with the same spirit of helping other clubs.
“As Kawama Hotspurs we are happy to receive these, We are very proud because we have been playing without jerseys. Please take this message back to the sponsors, We appreciate this gesture and we say please continue doing this. We are your baby and we shall continue coming back to you for assistance. We just say thank you very much to Queens Academy management, ” he said.
Captain of the side Paula Mbambala was lost for words but was quick to promise that she and her teammates will work hat and do very well.
“I just want to say thank you. We appreciate a lot. We were not expecting this but please continue supporting us and we won’t disappoint you, We will do well, ” she said.
Kavimba reiterated the club’s commitment to helping clubs who are struggling in any way they can.
“When we see people doing what we are doing we always want to contribute in a small way. I was sent to come and present to you a set of Jersey and one soccer ball,” he said.
” This will help you as you do sport which keeps you busy and helps you forget about other things which are in this world, ” he added.
This is not new for the inaugural FAZ Women’s National Championship runners up as they have been helping clubs and players for some time now. They previously donated jerseys to Prison Leopards Women’s football club and have been sponsoring a number of girls, taking them to school and providing them with all the necessities.
The Kabwe based outfit is owned by Green Buffaloes Women’s football club President, Col Priscilla Katoba and her husband Col Innocent Chewe who have transformed it into one of the best Women’s clubs in the country.
