QUEENS ACADEMY DONATE JERSEYS AND MATCH BALLS TO NEWLY FORMED PRISON LEOPARDS WOMEN’S TEAM
Central Province FAZ Women’s League giants, Queens Academy donated a set of Jerseys and match balls to newly established women’s soccer team for the Zambia Correctional Service on Thursday.
Zambia Correctional Service Commissioner General Dr. Chisela Chileshe thanked Queens Academy for the gesture.
“To Queens Academy, we are very grateful that you actually recognized this team to be even your nursery because am sure you have advanced to compete at a higher level. It’s so entertaining to the extent that we are able to appreciate women’s soccer and the league is so open that if a team just puts a little bit effort they will find themselves in the National League and later the players are easily identifiable to go in the National team where they will have chances of flying out of the country for Olympics and other National duty”, said Dr. Chisela told Prison Leopards media during the handover ceremony at the Correctional Staff Training College football ground.
Queens Academy team manager Sackson Kavimba urged the ladies to be passionate about what they do because it’s there commitment that will attract other sponsors to come on board and help them.
Queens Academy is arguably the best team in Kabwe and finished as runners up at the inaugural FAZ Women’s national Championship pocketing K20, 000.
The team is sponsored by Green Buffaloes Women’s football club President, Col Priscilla Katoba.
The Zambia Correctional Service has complied with FAZ’s directive for clubs to establish women’s soccer teams. The team is under the tutelage of coach Moses Simpamba.
