Put your house in order or face a ban, FAZ warn City of Lusaka

The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) City of Lusaka football club to resolve their issues internally or risk facing a ban.This is according to a press statement issued by FAZ Communications manager Desmond Katongo and made available to Zambianfootball.co.zm.

The two parties have been advised to sort out their issues and form one single team that can participate in the 2018 league season.
FAZ believes the matter should be sorted out internally but failure to do so will force the Association to act and possibly ban the club from participating in the 2018 league season.

Yesterday, Sunday, April 15th two City of Lusaka teams showed up to face Young Buffaloes prompting the cancellation of the match due to the confusion.

City of Lusaka Football Club Faces Possible Ban

The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has noted with concern the happenings around City of Lusaka Football Club. FAZ will not condone any more confusion at City of Lusaka Football Club and wishes to remind the involved parties of their responsibility to the game.

The position of FAZ on the matter remains as follows:

i) The Football Association of Zambia directed that City of Lusaka Football Club harmonize its separate factions into one team to participate in the 2018 league.
ii) An interim committee headed by Mr Kaitano Chungu as interim committee chairman was appointed by City of Lusaka PLC to oversee matters pertaining to the running of the club on interim basis.

iii) The Football Association of Zambia gave City of Lusaka PLC 120 day period to normalize effective 6th March, 2018.

iv) The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) considers the ongoing divisions to be an internal matter and expects that these will be resolved internally by the concerned parties failure to which FAZ will be compelled to protect the integrity of the game and may invoke protective measures which may include suspension of the club from the league.

Any group of persons failing to follow this position will be subject to the FAZ disciplinary processes.
