PSL Round up: Roderick Kabwe scores cracker..Kennedy Mweene Keeps Clean Sheet and more..

It was mixed day at the office for South African based Chipolopolo Stars in the closing fixtures of the 2020/21 PSL season.

Roderick Kabwe scored a cracking left footed long range shot and opening goal of the contest in Black Leopards 1-all draw against Bloemfontein Celtic.

The former ZANACO F.C man put his name on the scoresheet in the 11th minute after picking the ball from the right far from the penalty area before unleashing an unstoppable bullet into the roof of the net passed the keeper.

It was Kabwe’s fifth goal in twenty-one league appearances.

Bloemfontein Celtic managed to grab an equalizer in the 73rd minute courtesy of a Reagan Claude Van der Ross effort for the encounter to end 1-1.

As a result, Black Leopards finish in bottom place on 23 points and will be relegated to the NFD, South Africa’s second tier league competition.

Elsewhere, Gamphani Jones Lungu put in a good ninety minutes shift as Super Sport United were held to a 1 -1 draw by Chippa United to cement a fifth-place finish.

Lungu, who spent some time on side-lines nursing an injury has managed 24 league appearances with one goal and an assist.

Lazarous Kambole was an unused substitute in Kaizer Chiefs’ 1 – 0 victory away at TC Galaxy.

The former ZESCO United hit man has struggled to break into Kaizer Chiefs starting XI. He has managed only 11 league appearances with a single assist.

AmaKhosi have had a poor campaign given their usual high standards. They finish the season in eighth position.

Kaizer Chiefs will be hoping to salvage their season when they come against Moroccan opposition, Wydad AC in the 2-leged CAF Champions League Semi-Final encounters.

Augustine Mulenga was unable to add to his impressive tally of 5 goals and 11 assists in 26 league matches as he did not make match-day squad in AmaZulu’s nil-nil draw at Maritzburg United.

The winger’s top foam has inspired the Benni McCarthy tutored side to a sensational second place finish and guaranteed CAF Champions League football next season.

Nathan Sinkala’s Stellenbosch F.C. were held to a goalless draw by Golden Arrows.

The 2012 AFCON  winning Chipolopolo midfielder put in another stellar ninety minutes shift to help the Steve Barker coached side to a 14th place finish and assured of safety from relegation.

Austin Muwowo did not make Orlando Pirates’ match day squad that was held to a stalemate by TTM to confirm a third-place finish and next season continental football.

The 24-year-old has struggled to find game time having made only 2 league appearances all season.

Perhaps a loan move away from the Buccaneers could be on the cards for the player nicknamed ‘Kawilo’ going into next season.

The 2012 AFCON  winning Chipolopolo keeper Kennedy Mweene kept a clean sheet as Mamelodi Sundowns were crowned 2020/21 league champions.

The Brazilians defeated Cape Town City by 3 – 0 to seal an 11th league title triumph.

The PSL will now go on recess.

He was average and only the last 45minutes. I watched the whole game. He actually needs improve he’s performance has nothing to write home about.

  3. Frog says:

This Ka Muwowo boy at Pirates must ask for a loan move . The same with this Mweene man at sundowns. He’s an excellent goal keeper but his luck of game time is a major setback. My suggestion to you sir move either to TP Mazembe or Simba as you be still be paid handsomely
