Prison shock Zesco as Napsa’ woes continue

Ghanaian striker David Obashi scored a brace for Prison Leopards in an emphatic win over Zesco United at Kabwe’s Godfrey ‘Ucar’ Chitalu Stadium on Wednesday.

In an early kickoff, Prince Mumba’s late goal was enough to send Kabwe Warriors to third on the log as they beat relegation  threatened Napsa Stars.

Poor officiating was the highlight of the first half at Godfrey ‘Ucar’ Chitalu Stadium.

Zesco United defender Clement Mwape was wrongly to penalised to have handled in the penalty box and from the spot, Obashi scored with a well taken shot to give Prison Leopards the lead.

Zesco’s woes continued after midfielder Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba was sent off for a second bookable offence as they were reduced to a man down.

After the break, the runaway leaders pushed for an equaliser as Chitiya Mususu hit the post.

It was another Ghanaian player, Augustine Henneh who grabbed the second for the home as his free kick was deflected off Enock Sakala Jnr.

Birthday boy Obashi sealed the victory for Prison after he tapped home a Tshite Mweshi cross to score his 12th goal of the season.

With three matches to go, Prison Leopards are tenth on the log with 41 points while Zesco United just needs 5 points from the remaining 5 games to win their ninth title.

Straight from sending Mohammed Fathy on administrative leave, Napsa Stars were hoping for a positive reaction but unfortunately Kampamba Chintu’s return to his boyhood club didn’t go as planned.

Zambia Under-20 midfielder Prince Mumba won the battle of the new kid on the block against the in form Jimmy Mukeya.

Mumba scored in the 86th minute to send Warriors to third on 47 points. The Ian Bakala coached side is now a point above Buildcon, Red Arrows and Lusaka Dynamos.
