Preview: Lesotho v Zambia – Should Mwansa keep his place?

Zambia face Lesotho in the 2023 edition of the Cosafa Cup on Sunday with kick off at 18h00.

This will be the third meeting between the two sides in the last four months with Zambia recording victories twice over the Likuena in the AFCON qualifiers.

While the likes of Patson Daka, Fashion Sakala and Lameck Banda were available for the two ties in March, Sunday’s final will see Zambia feature a locally assembled squad.

Zambia shock off an early defeat to Malawi to pick up victories over Comoros, Seychelles and South Africa to reach the final.

Stand in Zambia coach Moses Sichone is expected not to tinker with goalkeeper Francis Mwansa expected to keep his place ahead of Lawrence Mulenga.

The back like – Samson Mkandawire, Killan Kanguluma, Mathews Chabala, John Chishimba – will start in defence.

A midfield trio Fredrick Mulambya, Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba and Kapumbu will get the nod in the engine room.

Upfront Albert Kangwanda and Golden Mashata will occupy the flanks while Andrew Phiri could rival Moyela Libamba as a lone striker.
