Power Dynamos humble Nkana as NAPSA edge Lusaka Dynamos
Power Dynamos thrashed Nkana 3-0 to continue their dominance at Nkana Stadium while NAPSA Stars finally moved out of the relegation zone following a hard-fought one-nil win over Lusaka Dynamos in a Lusaka derby.
The MTN/FAZ Super League entered week 19 this afternoon but the headline fixture was a week 12 rescheduled match as thirteen-time record Champions, Nkana welcomed bitter cross-town rivals, Power Dynamos in the much anticipated, awaited, and loved Kitwe derby.
Nkana were looking to transfer their CAF Confederation Cup form to the league and return to winning ways in the domestic league this afternoon but welcoming a Power Dynamos side that has not lost at Nkana Stadium since 2015 it was always going to be tough.
Abayellow started strong and was in the lead just five into the match after he found himself unmarked in the 18-yard area. Nkana tried to come back immediately and Lyson Thole thought he had equalized with a brilliant free-kick but Jackson Kakunta made a brilliant save.
Obed Masumbuko tried one from distance but again Kakunta made a brilliant save. Power Dynamos were two-nil up in the 38th minute after Spencer Sautu got on the end of a Kennedy Musonda cross to score from close range, 2-0.
Sautu turned provider while Musonda turned finisher as Power Dynamos extended their lead. Jackson Kakunta almost turned villain in the last few minutes as he allowed Nkana to get on the ball as he tried to watch the ball roll out of action but Nkana recovered only for Fred Tshimenga to fail to punish the young goalminder, 3-0 the match ended Power Dynamos now move to eighth place with 25 points.
Elsewhere, Emmanuel Mayuka scored the only goal of the game as NAPSA Stars beat Lusaka Dynamos 1-0 in a Lusaka derby.
Sensational Zanaco played out to a one-all draw with Green Eagles to stay top while Kabwe Warriors and Nkwazi played to a goalless draw.
At Nkoloma Stadium, Green Buffaloes needed a late Friday Samu penalty to rescue a point as they drew 1-1 with Indeni.

OUCH! Nkana Losing to Power Dynamoes is really painful. 3 Nil. I feel Nkana with the loss of Walter Bwalya and Idris Mbombo the team has gone down. As long as we don’t replace these guys with quality we not going anywhere.
I’m worried at the lack of depth in the team as we compete in CAF C.C games. We might get embarrassed.
