Copper Queens boss Bruce Mwape has welcomed the addition of Chipolopolo physical trainer Jamie Lawrence to the technical bench.
Mwape says the arrival of Leicester City man has been long overdue but he believes Lawrence will be able to help the players with their physical fitness.
“It has been long overdue, I could have come a long time ago and by now we would not be talking about the fitness levels of our players, I think he is most welcome and am sure he will be able to work on the fitness of our girls,” Mwape said.
“We want more experts so that by the time we are going to the World Cup everything is in place.”
Lawrence has been added to the Copper Queens technical bench for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup to be co-hosted in Australia and New Zealand.
The Copper Queens reinforced technical bench will have a technical advisor, physical trainer, video analyst and nutritionist and FAZ hopes the team will be sharpened ahead of their Group C opener against Japan on 22 July.
