Patson Daka assists as Salzburg start UCL campaign with a draw
Zambian striker Patson Daka set up a goal as Redbull Salzburg started their UEFA Champions League campaign with a draw on Wednesday evening.
Daka started the match up front with Sekou Koita with Compatriot Enock Mwepu playing in midfield.
2016 Euro tournament hero for Portugal Éder opened the scores 19 minutes into the match with a header. Salzburg equalized at the death of the first half with a brilliant strike from Hungarian teenage sensation Dominik Szoboszlai who netted a stunner from the edge of the box.
Salzburg went ahead five minutes into the second half as Zlatko Junuzovic slotted home from a Patson Daka lay off to make it 2-1. Poor goalkeeping from Cican Stankovic however allowed Lokomotiv Moscow to score in the 75th minute, Vitali Lisakovich heading home from close range with Stankovic helping the ball on its way in.
Daka had a chance to seal the win in the dying minutes but he could not beat the goalkeeper, 2-2 the match ended.
