NUMBA PIPS JANZA & WADA FOR ZESCO UTD JOB
Former Sensational Zanaco coach Numba Mumamba has won the race to become Zesco United new head coach following the departure of George Lwandamina.
Numba was the one settled for after scrutinizing the options available. Lwandamina and Zesco part ways on Tuesday after the two parties reached a mutual agreement.
Numba pipped two former Chipolopolo gaffers to land the Zesco role in Wedson Nyirenda, who is now at Lusaka Dynamos and Honor Janza.
The ZamFoot Crew also understands that Honor Janza was the club’s first choice to replace George Lwandamina at the Ndola based side but a ‘few executive members’ had reservations about him.
Numba has been unattached since January when he was fired by the Bankers. Numba led Zanaco to one league title in 2016, One and only ABSA (Barclays) Cup in 2017, and reached the group stages of CAF Inter-clubs competitions three times during his time at Sunset Stadium.
