Numba Mumamba gives an update on Thabani Kamusoko
ZESCO United head coach Numba Mumamba is hopeful that Zimbabwean midfielder Thabani Kamusoko may play in the opening match of the 2020/2021 Super League season which is scheduled to kick off later this month.
The dreadlocked midfielder was pulling the strings for the Ndola side in the middle of the park before he sustained an injury two days before Zesco hosted TP Mazembe in a CAF Champions League encounter.
Kamusoko was part of the team that set-up base in Mongu as part of the club’s pre-season preparations ahead of the start of the 2020/2021 Super League season.
“Kamusoko is doing very fine and recovering very well. He showed great commitment and character in Mongu. He never backed out in training,” Numba told the club’s official website.
“This showed us that he is back and all we need is to prepare him for the league and work on his fitness and mental strength. The latter is important especially after sustaining a bad leg injury. I can safely say he is doing fine and might even play the first game of the season,” he added.
Since joining the 8-time Zambia Super League Champions last year in August, Kamusoko registered 3 goals in the league and one in the CAF Champions League preliminary round.
