North Western Provincial Health Director directs Kansanshi to suspend games and training
Solwezi based side Kansanshi Dynamos has been directed to suspend training and any games until they are cleared by the North Western Provincial Health office.
The club confirmed the development in a post on its official Facebook page. The team and technical bench are currently in self-isolation.
“The Northwestern Provincial Health Director has directed Kansanshi Dynamos football club to suspend any games and training sessions until the team is engaged and cleared to continue.
We have since complied with the directive and we are up to now waiting for the office of the Director of the Provincial Health to engage and clear us. All players, technical staff, and support staff are in self-isolation and have been directed to stay home. ”
The statement from the club’s media department also refuted social media claims that the directive is from their sponsors Kansanshi Mining.
“We further wish to refute stories circulating on social media that the directive to self-isolate is from our sponsors Kansanshi Mining PLC. The club remains focused and determined to complete all it’s remaining fixtures as long the environment remains enabling.
Kansanshi Dynamos football club will inform all it’s stakeholders accordingly on further developments regarding this matter.”
Kansanshi Dynamos are scheduled to host Green Eagles on Sunday 2nd August at the Solwezi Independence Stadium.
The Mabanga Boys are fighting relegation and are currently 15th on the log with 26 points from 25 games.
