Ninety minutes shift for Augustine Mulenga as Pirates narrowly edge Amazulu
Hardworking Chipolopolo winger Augustine Mulenga played a full ninety minutes in AmaZulu’s 1 – 0 loss at the hands of Orlando Pirates on Thursday.
‘Usuthu’ as AmaZulu are known were unlucky to walk away without a point having troubled the hosts in the first half with their high tempo of play.
Mulenga tormented his former employers down on the left wing with surging runs and energetic take-on.
However, AmaZulu’s efforts were not enough as the ‘Buccaneers’ scored the lone goal courtesy of a second-half thumping free-kick by Malawian International, Mhango from the edge of the box.
Following the result, AmaZulu remains second on the log table with 60 points. They are 10 points behind log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.
Two rounds of fixtures are left to play before the close of the 2020/21 PSL season.
Augustine Mulenga is among the players in Coach Micho’s provisional squad for Zambia’s upcoming friendly matches.
The former ZANACO F.C. man has been in inspired form this season. He has bagged 5 goals and 11 assists in 24 appearances.
