Zambian Champions Zesco United are closing in on the signature of Nchanga Rangers striker Zikuru Adams, the ZamFoot Crew understands.
Ghanaian hitman took the league by storm after he hit an astonishing 13 goals in 14 games and helped the Chingola outfit avoid relegation.
According to the ZamFoot Crew sources, Zesco United are believed to have won the race for his signature.
“Yes, it’s true negotiations are almost done and we will be unveiling him probably next week,” a ZamFoot Crew insider at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium said.
A host of the big clubs were keen to snap up Zikuru but the lure of CAF Champions League played a major role for the striker.
“You know how these West African players value Champions League and once Zanaco indicated that they had their eyes set on someone else then, It was easy for Zikuru to chose Zesco United,” adds another source close to the player.
Zikuru is expected to be earn K25, 000 per month and he will be one of the top earners at the club.
Though Jesse Were is being linked with a moves to either Tanzania and South Africa, the hierarchy at the Ndola side don’t see the capture of Zikuru as a direct replacement.
For Nchanga Rangers, after pocketing around K350, 000 on the sale of Isaac Shamujompa to Buildcon, it is another good business for a player they got on free transfer in the mid season transfer window.
It is believed Zesco United will pay around K300, 000
Ok there we go, drop Jackson Mwanza
Good acquisation, though I feel Jackson Mwanza should be offloaded.
Yes Jackson Mwanza ,Mwape Mwerwa and maybin kalengo should be offloaded zega needs new creative and hot strikers.
I campaigned vividly for this chap to come either nkana or power but to no avail, just how are kitwe sides going to compete if they do not sign goal getters, awe sure kuwayawayafe power and kalampa.
Nowadays leagues are won at the ATM machine.
The trend at Nchanga continues.Nchanga has now been turned into a supply machine, good players are no longer staying at the club. I won’t be surprised if they hold some more trials during the off season. Management and officials at Nchanga must use the same money to beef the squad with equally good players coz we are tired of this circus. We need our glory days back.
