Napsa Stars came from a goal down to beat Green Eagles away in Choma and move up to second place while Nkana returned back to winning ways as they beat Kabwe Warriors 1-0.
The MTN/FAZ Super League entered week 23 of action on Saturday with five matches taking center stage.
Napsa Stars traveled to Choma hoping to continue their winning run and move up to the second place. It was, however, Green Eagles who found the back of the net first through Ronald Chibwe just 9 minutes into the match.
Napsa Stars, however, leveled matters three minutes from the half time break thanks to a Dickson Chapa strike. The Napsa Captain netted direct from a free-kick to draw the Pensioners level.
20 minutes into the second half Napsa Stars took the lead through midfielder Danny Silanvwe. The Pensioners held on to win the match and move to second place with 45 points just one adrift of log leaders Forest Rangers.
In Lusaka, Lusaka Dynamos came from a goal down beat Kansanshi Dynamos 2-1. Jacob Ngulube put Kansanshi in the lead but the Elite side leveled matters ten minutes to half time, Baba Basile converted from the penalty spot.
Aubrey Funga scored the winner in the second half to continue Lusaka Dynamos’ winning streak.
At Edwin Imboela Stadium, Power Dynamos and Nkwazi played out to a goalless draw.
At Nkoloma Stadium, Mighty Mufulira Wanderers surprised everyone as they hammered Red Arrows 3-0 thanks to goals from Bwalya Chela, Bernard Mapili and Angel Lubambo.
In Kitwe, Idriss Ilunga Mbombo scored the only goal of the game as Nkana beat Kabwe Warriors and continued their dominance over the Magnificent People’s team has never lost to them since 2011.
The win takes Nkana back to the top four but should Zesco United beat Green Buffaloes this afternoon Nkana will drop out of the top 4.
