Napsa place Janza, Chaipa on adminstrative leave alongside Fathi

Napsa Stars have finally confirmed that Mohamed Fathi has been placed on administrative leave following a string of poor results.

The club has also announced that Technical Director Honor Janza, Logistics Manager Gift Chaipa, and Club administrator Daniel Chiboleka have also joined the Egyptian-born coach on administrative leave.

“Members of the Secretariat placed on leave include the Technical Director, Mr. Honor Janza, Logistics Manager, Mr. Gift Chaipa and Club Administrator Mr. Daniel Chiboleka,” media statement released by the club read

“The development comes after a string of poor performance by the team which has brought serious concerns to the Sponsors, the Board, fans and other stakeholders.”

Former Zambia defender Kampamba ‘Modibo’ Chintu will act as head coach and will be in charge of Wednesday’s MTN Super League match against Kabwe Warriors.

“First Assistant Coach Chintu Kampamba will take over the team in an acting capacity to be assisted by Donwell Yobe, Lameck Nyangu, and Sipho Mumbi until further notice.”

Chintu was roped in by Janza and Fathy mid-way through the season from his boyhood club Warriors where he was an assistant to Chabby Chabula. This is the second time the AFCON winner will be at the helm of a club after his assistant role at Warriors and Power Dynamos.

The ZamFoot Crew understands that Napsa Stars is expected to announce Perry Mutapa as the new coach in the next few days.

“As you are aware Perry is still also on administrative leave with Power Dynamos. So the club is still trying to talk to Power,” the ZamFoot Crew insider said.

Napsa Stars is currently placed 15th on the log with 36 points.

The pensioners have three games in hand over the 12th placed Young Green Eagles who have 39 points.  Should they beat Kabwe Warriors on Wednesday, they will be out of the relegation zone with two games over their rivals.
