Mwepu, Mwiya and Chilufya headline Bwale’s provisional squad for COSAFA

Chipolopolo midfielder Enock Mwepu’s young brother Francisco, Sweden based Edward Chilufya and England based Mwiya Malumo will lead the young Copper bullets heading into COSAFA U20 Championships.

Mwepu has been a reliable source of goals for the junior Chipolopolo netting the two goals Zambia scored at last years disappointing outing.

Malumo made his debut in an AFCON qualifier against Rwanda and netted a goal but missed the back to back games against Burundi.

Edward Chilufya on the other hand was a key member of coach Beston Chambeshi’s all conquering U20 side that reached the quarter finals of the World Cup.

Other key players include Zesco United winger Lameck Banda, Nchanga Rangers forward Martin Njobvu and captain Prince Mumba.


Bwale has dropped a number of players namely midfielder Obino Chisala of Happy Hearts, Kasonde Mulenga of National Assembly,
Victor Mubanga from Lumwana and
Prince Shipota of Prison Leopards

Defender Andrew Phiri has been recalled to the U20 set up after missing the AFCON qualifiers.


The squad is not without new faces as Bwale has drafted in South Africa based highly rated winger Salifyanji Mugala, U17 midfielder Patrick Gondwe, Young Green Buffaloes forward Emmanuel Mwinde and Happy hearts wonder kid Golden Mashata.
