Mwape Musonda leads Black Leopards back to PSL
Zambia National team striker Mwape Musonda was on target as Black Leopards beat Ajax Cape Town 2-0 in their penultimate play-off clash this afternoon to retain their top-flight status.
Musonda Musonda tucked home Tiklas Thutlwa’s cross-field ball with a one-touch fine finish in the 79th minute to seal a fantastic afternoon for Lidoda Duvha. Isaac Masia scored the opening goal with a beautiful header, 14 minutes into the match.
Former Sensational Zanaco midfielder Rodrick Kabwe was a second-half substitute for the Urban Warriors though he could not help them salvage even a point from the match.
The win takes Leopards to nine points from three games which means they have managed to reaffirm their spot in the elite league next season with a game in hand. Ajax Cape Town finishes second with 6 points after four games while TTM who face Lidoda Duvha in the final game have zero points from three games.
Mwape Musonda has managed 4 goals in the GladAfrica Championship/PSL playoff and 13 overall having netted 9 times in the normal PSL season where Lidoda Duvha finished second from last.
