Zambia coach Avram Grant believes goalkeeper Francis Mwansa is the country’s symbol of present and future.
The 21 year old has come under fire after he conceded two goals in Zambia’s 4-2 win over Congo on Friday.
“I think Francis [Mwansa] is doing a very good job since he has been playing. But also Lawrence [Mulenga] did a good job against Ivory Coast and [Charles] Kalumba the third goalkeeper,” Grant said
“I think all the three goalkeepers performed very well in the training camp. This is a position that we want to see more stability.
“I think anyone from this three we play will show good performance like Francis [Mwansa] did in the last three games and Lawrence before.
The Green Buffaloes had displaced Mulenga as Zambia’s first choice shot-stopper.
He has since won 6 caps.
“He [Francis] is a good future goalkeeper for the country. He is young.
Please please start Lawrence mulenga on Tuesday

Awe the boy is good In two years he will be among the best goalkeepers Zed has ever produced
… that first congo goal was like goal of the season…
Maybe for the future but for now, he is too raw and unstable. Play a goal keeper with regular game time. We so far appreciate your work but don’t double standards the same measure you used on Miguel must be used on Mwansa.
