Mwange joined United at the start of the new season as a replacement for Richard Ofori, who left the Team of Choice to join Orlando Pirates.
The Chipolopolo keeper has since been replaced by German goalminder Marcel Engelhardt at the Kwazulu-Natal-based outfit after things did not work out. Mwange made five appearances, conceded eight goals, and had no clean sheet.
Maritzburg manager Quintin Jettoo has confirmed that Mwange and the club have reached a settlement agreement paying him out for his two-year deal with Maritzburg United.
“We have reached a settlement and he has gone back to Zambia,” Jettoo told KickOff.com.
The 2019 COSAFA cup and golden glove winner is no stranger to the Zambia super league having been pivotal in the CAF qualifying seasons for Green Eagles Football Club. Mwange’s acquisition brings competition for effective performance in goalkeeping for Abayellow.
Mwange will battle for a place in between the sticks with youngster Jackson Kakunta and Lawrence Mulenga.

I watched all the games Mwange played in the PSL..he was a let down and didn’t represent Zambia well. Conceded goals in every game. Cyril Chibwe is better than this guy by far..Mwange is in no position to be called Zambia number one..I was very disappointed..it’s sad some players bakakotelafye mu local league
Mwange… Zoona.. I have always felt his overated but I don’t understand why power dynamos have to great young goalkeepers.. This will ruin they progress.. Mwange is very very very average
