Mukuka Mulenga back at Arthur Davies Stadium after six years
Mukuka Mulenga has returned to Arthur Davies Stadium six years after leaving the Kitwe giants to join South Africa PSL side Mamelodi Sundowns.
Mulenga who had been a free agent since 2016 signed a deal with Powerful Power Dynamos this morning in Kitwe, the ZamFoot Crew understands.
Mulenga becomes the second signing for Power Dynamos since the arrival of Perry Mutapa as their new head coach. The first signing was striker Biston Banda who penned a three-year deal last week.
Mulenga nearly re-joined Abayellow back in August but the deal broke down because he was demanding a huge signing on fee which Power was not ready to give him.
Mulenga who is nicknamed Deco was a key part of the Power dynamos side that won the league back in 2011 (The last time Power Dynamos won the league). He was voted as the Superleague player of the year in 2012 and also won the 2013 COSAFA Cup under Herve Renard.
He then made his switch to the South Africa PSL joining Mamelodi Sundowns in August 2013. At Sundowns Mukuka struggled to establish himself and was sent out on loan to Bloemfontein Celtic for the 2014/15 season.
In 2016 he was again sent on loan to Mpumalanga Black Aces (now Cape Town City) having been deemed surplus to requirements at the Brazilians.
Mukuka has been without a club since leaving Sundowns in June 2016 and media reports indicated that he had retired from football last year to focus on Business following medical advice.
Mukuka’s arrival will add experience to the Power Dynamos midfield which has a lot of talent in the likes of Fred Mulambia and Larry Bwalya.
