It’s a Mugalu world and we are all just living in it

The name Chris Mugalu is now almost synonymous with goals in the Zambia Super league. The Congolese talisman has netted 19 times ( actually 20 but one was scrapped off by the ruling in favour of Power Dynamos in the Tresor Kanyinda case).

Lusaka Dynamos maybe walking away empty handed in terms of trophies but Mugalu is set to be crowned the league topscorer unless Jesse Jackson Were and Friday Samu can score five and six goals respectively to atleast makes it a tie.

This is his first season in the league and he has started making his mark already. Mugalu has been Lusaka Dynamos biggest threat upfront scoring goals at will and making defenders work whenever they come up against him.

His team mate Paul Banda has the utmost respect for the goal Machine, describing him as the most complete striker he in the league.

” Mugalu is simply Mugalu, A very good striker. He has no weakness. He can shoot with both legs, he is a good header of the ball and can hold the ball,” The Lusaka Dynamos right back said.

Mugalu is most likely going to win the top goalscorer’s award despite his teams disappointing season if you put the investment part into perspective but amazing when you look at the fact that it’s only a boardroom decision that made them to survive the drop.

Despite it being a Mugalu affair Zesco United’s Jesse Jackson Were has put up an good run with his 14 goals .

Zikiru Adams has been the best striker when game to goal ratio is considered as he has scored 12 goals in 14 games. He almost single handedly dragged Nchanga Rangers out of the relegation zone into safety.

When it comes to Zambian Strikers in the league Green Buffaloes Friday Samu has been the man running the show. Samu was a second choice striker the better of the first half of the season as Brian Mwila made thhe position personal to holder but since his derpature Samu has made himself the new Landlord at Green Buffaloes.

The owner of the crown Walter Bwalya had issues with the law and missed about 8 games hence remains far off with only 11 goals to his name.

The mines are a let down! They patched up Nkana Stadium instead of building a new one. One copper truck load can build a stadium! Stingy!

  5. SLIM says:

This article is abt Mugali domination of the ZPL not sponsorship. It is regretable that our coaches r failing to impart striking skills in our players. This is an area which requires attention in Zambia just like South Africa

  6. Seerman says:

    Coaches work on Zambian strikers!!

  7. Seerman says:

Even the foreign strikers are not scoring enough 19 goals is not good enough at least 23-25 is better.
