Wanderers CEO, Chimwemwe Manda-Luzendu revealed that the decision to settle on YESU Sports was motivated by the club’s vision of making a positive impact on the community by letting local businesses benefit from the club’s brand as much as it also grows.
“This is a very big day for us as Mufurila Wanderers, Those of you who have been following us know that we are in the process of rebranding our club and launching business initiatives and this falls under that,” Chimwemwe told the ZamFoot Crew in an interview.
“One of the things that we have been fighting and advocating for is not just to only growing the club but also impact the local community in a positive way. We could have easily gone to a foreign company or shop in China or South Africa but we thought it best that when the local club benefits and the local community also benefits.”
“The deal in total is worth $45, 000 for two years and that’s money that will remain in Zambia. We also want to urge businesses that this is not the end of our branding opportunities, our kit is still up for more sponsorship. We also urge the fans to keep coming, buy the replicas as long as we do that we will all move in the right direction,” she added.
YESU Sports founder Paul Chisanga Mwenya expressed happiness with the partnership and revealed that it was something they had been wanting for a long time.
Mwenya was also quick to assure Wanderers that they will put in an extra shift to make sure the legendary cup fighters get quality kit from YESU.
“This is an overwhelming ceremony as YESU sports because we have always wanted to work with a team of your stature. In the past, we have written emails and made calls to just try and get the club on board because of the team’s rich history onboard. The team has produced a lot of stars like the 1988 CAF player of the year, Kalusha Bwalya so its honor for us and again the team was established in 1954 and us 2014 we are a grandchild to Mufulira Wanderers so thank you so much,” he said.
We pledge our ultimate vigor and input in producing the best kit and training equipment. We have invested in the know-how and technology because we want to meet standards of international brands and this is a chance to prove our worth and what we can do. We not just in this business to just make money but also the passion to see our players and clubs get elevated through our brand.”
