Muchinga Zone A provisional Women league kicks off ahead of FAZ approval for official league
The 2020 provisional Muchinga Province Zone A Women’s League got off to a good start over the weekend with some interesting results recorded in match week 1 across different venues.
The Zone A favorites Ntindi Shining Stars visited J.J Queens at Madwa Ground and it was the stars that emerged victorious with a 2-0 win courtesy of a brace from Harriet Chifungo.
The first half in this match did not produce a lot of highlights, however, 5 minutes after the halftime break Shining Stars striker Harriet Chifungo opened the scores benefiting from a cross by the captain of the side Zewelanji Nambeye to make it 1-0.
Shining Stars kept chasing for more goals and it paid off because 20 minutes later, Nambeye yet again set up a second goal for Chifungo who completed her brace to make it 2-0 and put the game beyond a comeback for J.J Queens.
Elsewhere, The Rich Real Nakonde fail victim to Nakonde Tigers as they have condemned to a 2-nil away loss while Zesco Market managed to beat Kapilipili by the same goal margin in their territory.
YOLO suffered a painful 1-0 defeat at the expense of July whereas Isuku and Falcon match was not played and it was 3 points plus 3 goals for Isuku because Falcon failed to show up for the match.
The Muchinga Province Zone A Women’s League is a 10-team provisional league as they are waiting for a go-ahead from the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) to start the league.
