Moses Sichone resigns from FAZ
Moses Sichone has resigned his position at the Football Association of Zambia where he served as Assistant Technical Director.
According to a letter obtained by the ZamFoot Crew, FAZ General Secretary Adrian Kashala acknowledged receipt of the resignation letter from Sichone on Monday 15th October and accepted his resignation on Tuesday.
However, Kashala later in the day stated that the two parties had parted ways on mutual consent and had agreed a one month transition period.
“On a sad note I would like to announce that FAZ and the Assistant Technical Director Mr Moses Sichone have parted company on mutual consent,” Kashala said.
FAZ announced when he was appointed 9 months ago amid protests from some quarters that he would take for responsibility for the vacant Technical Director position and he was initially involved with the U20 national team technical bench for the Cosafa U20 championship and was later part of the Chipolopolo team that played at the CHAN tournament in Morocco. Both teams did not do very well.
Since then, he has mostly been confined to Football House. Despite having a successful career in Germany starting out at FC Cologne after leaving Nchanga Rangers in 1999 and holding a UEFA A coaching licence, the 42 year old found himself overlooked by FAZ when they appointed referee Jani Sikazwe as Technical Director.
Earlier in the year, Ponga Liwewe resigned as FAZ Secretary General citing a toxic footbal environment in the country.
