Collins Mbesuma’s blistering form in front of goal continued this evening when he netted a brace on each side of the half to help Mpumalanga Black Aces to a 2 – 1 away win over Mwape Musonda’s Golden Arrows.
Arrows drew first blood in the 14th minute through Deon Hotto but Aces fought back to equalise through Mbesuma in the 34th minute when he ponced on to a loose ball to fire home from inside the box.
Mbesuma was not yet done and he added another after the restart this time when he finished off a good pass from Thanduyise Khuboni to sustain Aces unbeaten start start to the season.
The Chipolopolo striker has now scored three goals in five games for Aces. He was substituted in the 84th minute.
Another Zambian international Musonda came off the bench in the game to complete 14 minutes in the game but could not influence proceedings for Arrows to rally back.
Chipolopolo number one Kennedy Mweene was an unused substitute when Mamelodi Sundowns scored an injury time winner to pick maximum points against Ajax Capetown. The game ended 3 – 2.

The big man Mbesuma has been one of my favorite athletes in the world since 2005 when I lived in Zambia. His two goals today made my day! He and Mayuka should start together in the World Cup and Africa Cup qualifiers from here on out. Jacob Mulenga should also be called. Go Chipolopolo!

This is good news for Chipolopolo, Mbesuma is a complete striker,humble with no politics on the field of play. Kalengo and Mayuka should learn from Mbesuma nothing but consistency. Let’s now concentrate to find a play who could replace Isaac Chansa.

Zambia will have a very very strong team over the coming months. The news going round is that fwayo tembo has finally sorted out his visa issues and is heading back to Romania as we speak to rejoin astra who are on top of the Romanian league and fighting for a place in the champions league next season.

Mbesuma! there is a lot to learn from this man. He has endured a lot of negative publicity and still come back on several occasions to prove he is a striker in his own class. Giving up does not exist in his dictionary. A humble man, ever patriotic-you will never hear about him turning down a call up to the national team . On several occasions he ha been called, only to end up on the bench. He has often scored when it matter most. Young players, please learn from this man. King David may the Lord bless you!!

This will give make the chipololpolo bench solid and more options as we face Sudan. And with Mayuka looking hot in France zambia might be back. What we lack is a top drawer European coach to turn us into a machine capable of going to the world cup

LUMWANA Radiants midfielder Gozon Mutale wants to use the under-23 national team call-up as a stepping stone to earn a place in the Chipolopolo.
Mutale said in Lusaka yesterday that his inclusion in the under-23 side is a step in the right direction.
“My role model is Chisamba Lungu, he inspires me a lot. I want to work hard at this level and play for the national soccer team,” he said.
Mutale, 21, is humbled by the call-up ahead of the African Under-23 Championship billed for Senegal.
“It is a dream come true to be called to the under-23 national team. I am learning a lot from my teammates, I am gaining experience,” he said.
Mutale is also targeting signing for Super Division sides Zesco United or Power Dynamos.
“I am working very hard in training, I want to play for Zesco United or Power Dynamos. These are my favourite teams in Zambia. It will be a dream come true to play for the two clubs, these are big teams in Zambian football,” he said.
And Lumwana chairman Nkumbu Sinkolongo said the club is humbled that Mutale has been drafted into the under-23 national team.
Sinkolongo said competing in the Barclays Cup has made it possible for the junior Chipolopolo technical bench to identify talent.
“The club is extremely humbled. We are happy that we exposed ourselves
in the Barclays Cup and this is a big motivating factor for us. This
recognition simply shows that there is direction and future for the
club, especially for the players,” he said.
Lumwana lost 3-0 to Zanaco in the Barclays Cup quarter-final match at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka last Saturday.
Meanwhile, under-20 women’s national team midfielder Osala Kaleo has been ruled out of Sunday’s 2016 Papua New Guinea World Cup qualifier against South Africa.
Coach Osward Mutapa said in Lusaka yesterday that Kaleo is recuperating from a knee injury.
“She has not yet healed from the injury, so she will not be part of the team that will play on Sunday. We wish her a quick recovery,” Mutapa said.
Kaleo sustained a knee injury during training at Olympic Youth Development Centre in Lusaka last week.
Team vice-captain Lweendo Chisamo said the junior She-polopolo are targeting beating South Africa 5-0.

Yes I think Mbesuma has matured and needs commendation. I remember when he also used to misbehave a lot. Most times than not he would fail to go back to his club after national duties. He would reportedly be having binges with his old pals in Luanshya.

FORMER international striker Linos Chalwe says the players’ association will help address the welfare of both active and retired footballers in the country. Chalwe, who is interim general secretary of the named association said the idea had been long overdue and it was high time the plight of players was represented. “Everything has been done and soon we shall be giving an official statement on the matter,” Chalwe said. He said the association would be of great benefit to the players as it would hear their voices at all costs. Chalwe said the current contractual hurdles most players are facing would be top on the agenda as players’ plight has not been represented for long. He said the association would as well consider introducing an educational scheme that would see players getting bursaries that would help enhance their educational standards. “Even the retired players would benefit greatly. We shall positively engage them based on the skills they have attained. Not just to do with football but any other field of their interest,” Chalwe said. He said Botswana, Namibia, South Africa and Zimbabwe already have this association and proudly supported Zambia for the common cause. Chalwe said in respect to that, the association received a positive recognition from FIFA when they attended and presented the idea during the International Federation of Professional Footballers (FIFPro) meeting that was held in Botswana. “We are proud for the support we have been receiving. It’s good to note that even FAZ is in full support of the project,” he said. Meanwhile, FAZ communications manager Nkweto Tembwe said it was a welcome move as players who are pivotal into the game had been voiceless at decision-making levels. “Players need to be heard. The idea is very welcome and will help settle a lot of problems pertaining the plight of players,” Tembwe said. He said the association would not only consider player when they are active but also help sustain them through involvement into various projects after retiring from the game.
