Luyando Foundation joins BUSA and Queens Academy on the FIFA Ecosystem analysis program
Lusaka FAZ Women’s League sides Bauleni United Sports Academy and Luyando Foundation have been included on the 13 team list of academies for the FIFA Ecosystem analysis program.
Luyando, BUSA has been joined by Col Priscilla Katoba’s Queens Academy, Pataaki, Choma Warriors, and YASA as the beneficiaries on the Women’s side under the FIFA Talent Development Football Ecosystem Analysis program.
“Thirteen football academies in Zambia have been selected as beneficiaries under the FIFA Talent Development Football Ecosystem Analysis program. The Zambian academies will join others across the world on the project which is a Youth High-Performance program.” read part of a statement by FAZ Communications manager Sydney Mungala.
The selection is based on a strict criterion that involves a seven-point process. The conditions include having produced the highest number of players for the under-17 national teams for both girls and boys in the last five years. The academies also must have at least three consecutive age groups like under-12, 14 including under 17.
Double Pass who have been hired by FIFA to run the project will now contact successful academies for an analysis of their operations. The online survey will reveal the level of kind of support that each of the academies requires. Support will not be uniform but tailored to the requirement of each individual academy.
FAZ Technical Director Lyson Zulu in an interview with FAZ media hailed the initiative saying it was his desire that more academies would benefit in the next phase of the program. Zulu went on to advise the academies to utilize this opportunity to ensure that more academies benefit in future programs.
On the Boy’s side, the successful academies include trendsetters Kafue Celtic, Blaze Academy, Athletico, Morkeved, Red Arrows, Modern Skills Academy, and Superade Academy.
