Kabwe Warriors moved to the top of the FAZ/MTN Division One South standings following a narrow 1-0 victory over Lusaka Tigers at Godfrey Chitalu Stadium.
In what was a winner takes all for the top two teams who were level on points going into the game, Warriors will have Idris Mbombo to thank for the goal which took them three points clear of second placed Tigers as they push for a return to the elite league and a place in the Barclays Cup.
In Division 1 North Lumwana Radiants took advantage of the slip by Kalulushi Modern Stars to go top after they beat FQM 2 – 1 at home.
Second placed Kalulushi lost away to Kansanshi.
Ndola United silenced bottom placed Konkola Mine Police with a 2 – 1 scoreline to move into 5th position.
Rex Chanda Junior and Moses Kalanza were both on target for Ndola in a game Nkonde Chakupalesa put up a notable performance in midfield.
