Lubambo Impressed with Micho’s work ethic…Describes FIFA window outing as a success
Polish-based winger Lubambo Musonda has described the October FIFA window outing as a success.
Musonda has expressed happiness with the new national team call ups and feels the games they played were a good test for them.
The former Power Dynamos winger told the ZamFoot Crew in an interview after the three international friendly matches that the Chipolopolo Boys are on the right track.
“It was a very good outing we had very good training with the other players we learned so much with each other, the games we played were a very good test for the team looking at the team many of these are new players some of them were just coming to the national team for the first time, it was a good thing we had them,” he said.
The winger believes the friendly matches are a good preparation for the back to back 2021 AFCON qualifiers against Botswana. Muzo also went on to talk about playing two different positions for the national team.
“We started from the first time the locals went into camp that’s where everything started we train to get better,” he said.
“It’s not so hard playing as a full-back or a winger both numbers are on the wings, on the defensive part you have to defend and attack, and on the Attack side you have to attack and defend as well,” he added.
Musonda who was working with coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic for the first time described the Serbian as a very good coach with a drive and passion for his team.
“You can even see when we are training and how we train his always demanding for hard work, it’s a good thing we have him here,” he said.
“We don’t have to stop we have to continue the work whatever we learned from here we have to take it even to the clubs and get working on it until the next time we come to meet.”
The K-Stars product is looking forward to the qualifiers and hopes to get the campaign back on track. The speedy winger was impressive both in the 2-1 loss to the Harambee Stars of Kenya and the 2-1 comeback win against South Africa.
The Copper Bullets will face Botswana in back to back Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers next month and need to collect maximum points in both games to put their qualification journey back on track after losing their opening two games 5-0 against Algeria and 2-1 to Zimbabwe.
